  1. Mood of Visual Images Objective: Identify and create the mood represented by a visual image.

  2. Moods…What kinds are there? • List as many moods as you can think of on your paper for 3 minutes. • Then, we will share.

  3. Sharing of Moods • If you hear of some moods that you didn’t think of, write them on your paper.

  4. How can we tell what kind of mood someone is in? • Facial expressions • Body Language • What they are saying; vocabulary • Behaviors • Any others?

  5. Study the photo. The mood of the students in this photo can best be described as F excited. G worried. H focused. J bored.

  11. As you can see mood can be easily recognized using a visual image such as a picture. • Now, I will assign you a mood, and I would like for you to quickly sketch a “thumbnail” drawing of that mood. A “thumbnail” is a small drawing. • Ex: Happiness

  12. What mood do I have? • If you are #1-5, you will draw excitement. • If you are #6-10, you will draw sorrow. • If you are #11-15, you will draw surprise. • If you are #16-20, you will draw disgust. • If you are #21-25, you will draw fear. • Do not share with your neighbors; we will have a share time afterwards. • You have 5 minutes to draw your thumbnail of your mood.

  13. Assignment: • For homework, you may choose the mood of your choice, and draw a full- sized picture representing that mood. This should be a picture with more detail than your “thumbnail” drawings. You should color it as well.
