The entire Wellington Region has 480,000 Capital City and the political and cultural centre of New Zealand – home to the NZ Symphony Orchestra, Royal NZ Ballet, NZ Stock Exchange SOUTHERNMOST capital city in the world Wellingtonians are known as some of the fittest New Zealanders. More cafés, restaurants and bars per capita than New York with some of the strongest coffee in the country! Average temperature in Winter is: 8.7 degrees Celsius (48 Fahrenheit)
