  2. Learning Intention • We are learning to deepen our understanding of the Vision and Mission of the CMSP for mathematics.

  3. Success Criteria • We will be successful when we can… • Make connections between the vision and mission of the CMSP and the role of the district MTL.

  4. The Vision of the CMSP Every MPS Student is Mathematically and Scientifically Literate 4

  5. What does mathematical literacy mean to you? • Briefly write down your understanding of mathematical literacy. Share it with your table group. • Read the district’s vision of mathematical literacy. • How is your definition similar or different to the vision put forth by MPS?

  6. CMSP Mission Use the next 10 minutes to: • Read pages 12 -16 of the CMSP plan. • Highlight phrases that are significant in understanding mission of the CMSP-Mathematics section.

  7. What’s the “Gist” of the CMSP Vision and Mission Statements • As a table group, create a paragraph capturing the “gist” of the vision and mission of the CMSP as it relates to mathematics instruction. • You must use each of the words that were gathered in the group list. They don’t have to be in the same sentence. • Be prepared to share out your paragraphs.
