  2. Intoduction • The Company I have done my research on is AIB. • It buys and sells shares in its own company. • Its main markets are domestic and international banking.

  3. Business Structure • AIB Group consists of a number of legal entities. • The parent company being Allied Irish Bank, p.l.c. • A number of subsidarles and associated companies. It has a divisional structure. • It operates in the Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe and there is a group division in Buffalo in New York. • Its headquarters are in Ireland, employing 14,000 worldwide. •  Bernard Byrne is currently Chief Financial Officer in AIB.

  4. Products/Services • The main service of this company is banking. • It sells its products/services mostly in Ireland. • The banking service is provided through the local branch network. • There are different range of services at different costs eg: Student accounts and over 55s banking.

  5. Marketing/Promotion • AIB targets its products at different groups. • Its main competitors are Bank Of Ireland, Post office , Credit Unions and Building Societies. • It promotes is services through advertising and sponsorship of sporting events , eg: on TV , Radio and print. • People would buy this service because it is a convenient way to pay bills, for instance online banking.

  6. Finance • AIB is currently owned by the Irish public through the taxpayer. • Its not dealing in shares at the moment.

  7. Conclusion • This company may seek investment on the stock exchange when Ireland no longer needs support from the IMF (the international monetary fund) and the Trioka. • I will not currently invest in this company, maybe I will in the future when things pick up in Ireland.
