  2. Particles in a Pure Substance • A Pure Substance has only one kind of particle throughout. How it looks depends on what form, (solid liquid or gas) it is in but all of the particles that make it up will look identical.

  3. Particles in a Solution In a solution the particles are evenly distributed throughout the liquid.

  4. Particles in a Mechanical Mixture • Since the particles in a Mechanical Mixture don’t combine they stay the same. Think of the oil and vinegar, did they combine or stay seperate?
