  1. Rotation #4 M R I Students will experience the world through detailed cultural information using Culture Grams as they choose a country to research. This cultural project is a unit designed so that students will learn that all cultures have value while learning to make an electronic slideshow using PowerPoint. Students will research background information on a country of their choice and then learn how to create and deliver a multimedia presentation. This unit will focus on how to research and cite sources. This unit will spread over 3 months (October-December) Culture Research Project Keyboarding Technique M R I new keys Standards: 1.5, 1.6, 3.1, 3.2, 3.7 Reading: Informational Text ELA-Literacy Draw on information from multiple print or digital sources, demonstrating the ability to locate an answer to a question quickly or to solve a problem efficiently

Discussion • Rotation 4 Goals: • By the end of this rotation you should be able to: • Learn the M R I keys • Demonstrate correct touch-system techniques for homerow keys and H E O M R I • Learn how to use clip art in Word • Demonstrate the ability to switch windows between applications collecting data for a research project “Culture Grams” • Learn how to paraphrase and create a 6 x 6 bullet for research

Research GKC M R I TODAY’S AGENDA You will need a pen/pencil and a worksheet from the bin. • Log onto computer • Get an internet connection you should come to Mrs. Beck’s website click on the pencil—Green pencil—you may use your worksheet if you have completed it. Take the online assessment. Scroll down to the 3rd link entitled “Technique Assessment” • Log on with your group number and last name • The password is….orange • Open up your GKC 1.3 Begin with part A and continue though Part G 2. Handout Culture Project Log into Culture Grams, explore what country you would want to visit! Explore the portal—slideshows, national anthem, video, etc.

Culture Project Begin learning how to write bullets following the 6 x 6 rule. Demo how to write bullets in PowerPoint Begin research slides 1-2
