  3. Bayer - $46B German company with a large Cropscience division in RTP. Poole COM has a strong relationship with Nick Hamon, VP of Product Development and Sustainable Development. Poole COM and NCSU’s College of Agriculture jointly partner with Bayer on a program on sustainability. Participants would have the opportunity to meet with the leaders of this effort. BiogenIdec - $5B US Pharmaceutical company with major operations in RTP. Poole COM is currently engaged in a custom executive program with Biogen. Participants would have the opportunity to meet with Biogen leaders and discuss the changing nature of the pharmaceutical industry. Burt’s Bee: personal care products defined as an “Earth Friendly, Natural Personal Care Company”. Participants would have the opportunity to meet the leaders and discuss their social and environment commitment culture.

  4. Cisco - $43B US telecommunication products company with their 2nd largest site in RTP. Participants would have the opportunity to visit Cisco facilities, experience the latest technologies and discuss with leaders the direction of innovation in the sector today. Cree - $1B semiconductor manufacturer based in RTP. Cree was formed in 1987 by researchers at NCSU and today is a leading innovator in the field of LED lighting. President Obama has visited Cree twice and highlighted it as a leading example of US innovation and manufacturing. Participants would have an opportunity to meet with leaders at Cree and learn about their unique culture that continues to drive innovation. GSK - $42B UK pharmaceutical company with major US leadership and the largest manufacturing plant based in the RTP area. Poole COM works with leaders in both groups on innovation and process improvement projects. Participants would have an opportunity to meet several leaders and discuss the global shifts in major pharmaceutical operations.

  5. IBM - $107B US company with a major division based in the RTP area. IBM is partnering with NCSU in a number of areas, including alternative energy research and the nation’s power grid, cloud computing, technology commercialization, and other ‘Smarter Planet’ initiatives. As one example, NCSU Virtual Computing Lab, Poole COM and CIMS partner with IBM on the use of data analytics and cloud computing, best known by IBM’s Watson computing tool. Participants would have an opportunity to meet and discuss advances in data analytics with research leaders at IBM. Lenovo - $22B Chinese computer manufacturer with its US headquarters based in RTP. Lenovo owns the former IBM PC division, best known for their ‘ThinkPad’ products. Poole COM and Lenovo are working together on initiatives in innovation culture development and supply chain improvements. Participants would have an opportunity to meet with leaders in both areas and discuss their advances.

  6. Novozymes - $2B Dutch biotech company with major research operations in RTP and recently announced development of a new biofuels facility here. CIMS and Novozymes have worked together for a number of years on innovation efforts. Participants would have an opportunity to meet with leaders there on growth in the biotech industry. Quintiles - $3B clinical research organization based in RTP. Quintiles is a global CRO leader, having helped bring to market the top 30 pharmaceutical products. As a member of Poole COM’s Biosciences Initiative, Poole COM and Quintiles have partnered on several student research projects. Participants will meet with leaders and learn about the new biotech research and clinical research activity.

  7. Red Hat - $1B software company based on NCSU’s Centennial Campus. Red Hat is a leader in the development of open source software and support for the Linux kernel. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with leaders at Red Hat and discuss the benefits of the open source software model SAS – Large private software company based in RTP. SAS began at NCSU as “project to analyze agricultural research”. Today it is a leading provider of business intelligence software. SAS continues to partner with NCSU, as a major supporter of the Master’s Program in Advanced Analytics. Participants will have a chance to meet with leaders of their global competitiveness team, looking at the demand for data analytics software today.
