  1. Phillippe Dandurand Wines Ltd.: The tradition of winegrowing in Franz Reh´s family goes back for many centuries.Winegrowing was first mentioned in the family annals more than 300 years ago. Besides cultivating their vines and making wine, Franz Reh´s forefathers were also boatsmen along the Mosel river and blacksmiths in the villages of Leiwen, Mehring and Neumagen in the Mosel valley. The tradition of vine cultivation and winemaking was passed from father to son, ensuring that the family´s experience was handed down through the generations. In 1920 Franz Reh built a new winery in Leiwen and developed the business into a modern enterprise selling their wines throughout the country. In 1947 a new company was founded with the aim of making top quality wines not just for the domestic market but also for export markets worldwide. To emphasize the tradition of winemaking in the family, Franz Reh chose one of Johann Peter Hasenclevers famous paintings “The Wine Tasting” as the logo to appear on all their wine labels. Hasenclever painted this picture while he was living in Berlin 1843. The original oil painting is still in possession of the Reh family. In 1994 Franz Reh´s son Herbert joined forces with other family members to create one of Germany´s most innovative and modern wineries, Reh Kendermann. Jürgen Hofmann, our Director of Winemaking, has a team of young winemakers to ensure the quality of the grapes grown an dvinified in state of the art facilities with cold-fermentation stainless steel tanks to enhance the natural fruitness of the wines. Using all the know-how modern technology can offer, the wines are bottled young to capture all the liveliness and elegance of some of German´s best white wines. Besides fruity semi-sweet wines fro the Mosel Valley, Franz Reh now also produces dry and semi-dry varietals from the Pfalz region further south. Thus the family-owned business continues to go from strength to strength, fully equipped to cope with the challenges of the 21st century in the 40 markets worldwide where Franz Reh wines are enjoyed every day.
