IAG Information Advice & Guidance What is it? • Information: provision of accurate up-to-date information on opportunities, progression routes, choices, where to find advice and how to access it. • Advice: provision of advice through activities that help young people to gather, understand and interpret information and apply it to their own situation • Guidance: provision of impartial guidance and specialist support to help young people to understand themselves and their needs, confront barriers, resolve conflicts, develop new perspectives and make progress.

IAG Information Advice & Guidance • We work alongside C&K Careers to provide students with up-to-date information on all opportunities for learning and work through our own resource centre and library. • Weekly bulletins, notice boards, labelled files and email facilities are provided for students to gain access to information.

IAG Information Advice & Guidance • Work Related Learning • Personalised Support and Guidance • Lunchtime support and help with UCAS • Through a planned Tutorial system we will provide all of the essential interlinked components or Principles of Impartial Careers Education / IAG in Years 12 & 13

Principles of Impartial Careers Education Provides comprehensive information and advice Raises aspirations Actively promotes equality of opportunity and challenges stereotypes Help young people to progress Empowers young people to plan and manage their own futures Responds to the needs of each learner
