Recent machine developments • Main developments during the last week: • Reducing the collision vertex: • Ramping storage cavities to 400kV at the store (used in first part of the week) • Quad pumping technique: better longitudinal matching from AGS to RHIS. • Nonlinear IR corrections (Blue, sext. and skew-sext.) • Emittance and collision rate dependences. • Blue snake adjustments • Yellow transmission efficiency improvements on the ramp • Major present issues: • Achieve proper scaling of the collision rates with number of bunches. • Tighten transverse and longitudinal emittance control. • PHENIX and STAR ZDC collision rate difference 03/14/06 Time Meeting V.Ptitsyn
