  2. Habitat • Some Bony Fish live in coral reefs, on a sandy sea bottoms, a rocky place, in caves, in shallow rivers, burrows, in the lake or sea, salt or fresh water.

  3. Vertebrate or Invertebrate • Bony Fish are vertebrates. • Being a vertebrate means you have a backbone.

  4. Cold blooded • The Bony Fish is cold blooded. • Cold blooded means they can’t control their body temperature.

  5. Life Cycle • The Life Cycle of a Bony Fish is egg, baby fish, big fish, adult fish, reproduce, death.

  6. How do they Breathe • They breathe through gills under water. • Gills work by filtering water and getting the oxygen out of the water.

  7. Body Covering • Most of Bony Fish covered with plates called scales. • The scales protect them. • Some scales are camouflaging the fish so their predators don’t see them.

  8. Reproduce • Some bony fish like salmon lay there eggs in the exact spot they were born, most do not. • They lay their eggs.

  9. Special body parts • A Bony Fish special body part is its dorsal fin on its back. It helps the fish swim. • The tail is another special body part. The tail helps the fish swim by swaying back and forth. • Another special body part is the swim bladder.

  10. Interesting Facts Bony fish are the largest group of vertebrates. Fish have adapt every environment including ice water. When there in a group its called a school and they can’t be killed by predators.

  11. Species • There are a lot of species of bony fish lets name some there are the trout, gold fish, tuna, clown fish, bass, trumpet fish, and tree fish.
