  3. About myself • My name is Patrick Francis Carey II. I am 19 years old, born and raised in Kingwood, Texas! • I am in a fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Patrick Carey

  4. I like to go to yoga classes. I enjoy being flexible. I feel like it makes me stronger and less likely to get injured. Part of why I like doing yoga is for Jiu-Jitsu. It is my passion. I also like to lift weights, but it’s just to help my Jiu-Jitsu. My hobbies Patrick Carey

  5. My future profession • I aim to be a network administrator. Computers have been my passion since I first got an athlon powered computer back in second grade. • I am a die hard AMD fan, and by extension now, ATI. There are not many reasons I have for this. But, I will defend their honor until I die. Some people would call that being a “fanboy”; I would agree. Patrick Carey

  6. Why I love BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) • BJJ is the best exercise I can do. It doesn’t even feel like work to me, I just feel like I’m gliding whenever I am grappling someone. Not to mention that I learn self defense. In all honesty, when grappling someone who hasn’t trained before, it’s just not fair. They stand no chance. It’s just the truth of the matter. I try and get everyone I know ( that will listen) to try it out, because the sport is still growing. Patrick Carey

  7. How to do the “Gogoplata” shin choke Will automatically play Patrick Carey

  8. Notes on gogoplata submission • Personally my favorite submission is the gogoplata. I like it just because most people never see it, even experienced grapplers. Most of the reason I like it is because it’s my style to be flashy. Patrick Carey

  9. Is it safe? • BJJ to a lot of people looks very dangerous. It can be. After all, all the joint locks are capable of physically maiming someone. • Choke holds are relatively safe. With a blood chokehold, they will pass out it roughly five seconds. Brain damage only will occur if the hold is held for over a minute.

  10. A variety of submission holds Patrick Carey

  11. Tenth Planet Jiu-Jitsu • Is a new style of jiu-jitsu that is based around the user’s flexibility • Through this new system, an entire new path of submissions is open • Because of how new the organization is, there are very few gyms that teach its techniques. Patrick Carey

  12. Training Routine As an instructor I will teach m y students the importance of flexibility for preventing injuries and how to use their flexibility as a weapon I will try and instill into the students their own abilities. Show them what they can do, not what I can do. Patrick Carey

  13. Cropped gogoplata picture I took out the background and reduced the size of the original
