  1. EPCS Setup by Role Prescriber/Admin

  2. Prescriber • Click on the Admin Tab • Click on “Prescriber Registration and EPCS Setup” • Complete the Identity Proofing form and click “Save” • Enter your PERSONAL address...NOT your address associated with your medical license. • If the form doesn’t appear and a prompt asks you to calculate payment, please contact vxsupport@dssinc.com

  3. Prescriber • Click the “Identify proof with above information button”

  4. Prescriber • A registration email is generated and sent to the supplied email address. • The email will be from UIS@betrusted.net

  5. Prescriber • The Prescriber’s Verizon UIS account is ready for activation. • Click on the hyperlink to open a web page where the activation will begin.

  6. Prescriber • Complete the User Profile Setup • It will be a series of invasive web forms asking personal questions to verify your identity. • Read all questions and prompts carefully

  7. Prescriber • You will receive another email stating your account was setup correctly. • It will also state your assurance level. • You must receive a high assurance level to transmit controlled substances • If you do not receive a high assurance level you will need to follow the instructions for increasing your vetting level. • It will include printing and completing a form that will need to be notarized and faxed to the Verizon Registration Authority. • EPCS activation within NewCrop can continue despite not receiving a high assurance level.

  8. Prescriber • Return back to NewCrop and navigate back to the Prescriber Registration and EPCS Setup page from within the Admin tab. • Enter the username that you created in Verizon in to the IDP Username field. • Click Check IDP registration status.

  9. Prescriber • Scroll down and find your name in the user list. Select the checkbox beside your name. • If you had previously entered an X-DEA number, your name will appear twice. Select both.

  10. Prescriber • Contact your EPCS admin and let him/her know that you are ready for their validation.

  11. EPCS Admin • The EPCS admin will now log into NewCrop and navigate to the Prescriber Registration and EPCS Setup page. • At the bottom of the page a new table titled “Authorize EPCS Privileges” will appear. A list of user’s who are awaiting validation will appear. • Click the “Select” link beside the prescriber’s name. • Notify the prescriber that you have completed their validation.

  12. Prescriber • Refresh the admin tab or log back into NewCropand navigate back to the Prescriber Registration and EPCS setup page. • Scroll to the bottom and a new table will appear titled “Finalize EPCS Authorized Priviledges • Click on the “Select” link beside your name

  13. Prescriber • Scroll back down to the bottom of the page and click the “Get one time passcode” button

  14. Prescriber • Enter you Verizon password that you created in the Verizon UIS setup (not your NewCrop password) • Choose the method you wish to receive your passcode and click the method button (text me or call me)

  15. Prescriber • Retrieve your passcode from the voice service or your text message • Enter the passcode into the “one-time passcode” field • Click the continue button • Contact your EPCS admin and notify him/her that you have approved the EPCS settings change.

  16. EPCS Admin • The EPCS Admin will now notify vxsupport@dssinc.com that the prescriber is now registered for EPCS and their bio-certificate can now be imported into NewCrop.
