  6. Tip/Tilt Stage • Traditionally Tip/Tilt has been mechanically complicated • Needs something simple and reliable • Tripod of piezoelectric actuators

  7. Translation Stage • Up and down motion • Rigid under rotation • Balanced by symmetry • Automatically locks when the motor stops

  8. Stage Actuation • Tip/Tilt Stage Actuation • SQUIGGLE SQ-100 • Translation Stage Actuation • PHYTRON VSS

  9. Instrument Interface • Anchors the translation stage flexing blades • Attachment point to the host instrument • Modifiable as long as the octagon shape is maintained
