Fantastic Mr Fox !. First, there was a book…. Written by ROALD DAHL. Illustrated by QUENTIN BLAKE. Then in 2009 it was made into a stop-motion movie by WES ANDERSON. Quentin Blake’s drawings are flat (2D : two dimensions).

  7. In the animatedmovie,the characters are in 3D(three dimensions).

  8. They are puppetsmade and painted by hand.

  9. All the sets and accessorieswere made especially for thismovie. There were 150 different sets and 4000 accessories !

  10. All the puppetswere madein differentsizesand withdifferent costumes. Somepuppetswere 12 mm high, otherswere 50 cm… 500 puppets and 621 450 photos were made for thismovie !

In a stop-motion movie… • … you arrange the set and the puppets, • … youtake a photo with a camera, • … youmakesmall changes in the puppets’positions, • … thenyoutakeanother photo, • … thenyou do itagain, and again, and again… … 24 photos make one second of film ! It took one year to makeFantastic Mr Fox…
