  2. DO YOU FEEL LIKE A PLASTIC BAG?….drifting through the wind?

  3. Do you find yourself doing this often?

  4. Why are we so awkward? • Do you sweat unbelievably when you are in front of a crowd? • Does your face turn bright red when you are around new people? • Does your body shake? • Do you interrupt people when they are talking because you’re anticipating your turn? • Do you stand without motion when everyone is socializing?

  5. Is this how you talk to people?Note: It might make them feel uncomfortable.

  6. Leadership and Confidence • What makes someone confident? • What are some ways to boost your self-esteem to make you feel more confident? • Brainstorm some ideas… what are some things that would help you improve as a leader? • Body Language • Relax • When to talk, & when not to talk • Eye Contact

  7. Think about all of your awkward moments…

  8. Improv Ice Breaker • Trying not to be awkward can mean taking risks & stepping out of your comfort zone • Public speaking is the most common fear among most people • Any volunteers to try it out?

  9. Follow-up for Ice Breaker • What did this teach us? What did the volunteers do correctly? What did the volunteers do awkwardly? • The point here is that we must be ready for the unexpected. • Sometimes you’ll be caught off guard, but just try to keep your cool, and you’ll be fine! • Have fun!

  10. Confidence Without Arrogance • We don’t want to be those super confident people who come off arrogant and demeaning • Be approachable • Be sincere • Be humble • Be honest and forthcoming • When you’re wrong, admit it and laugh it off

  11. Sooooo…. Just remember to be confident and believe in yourself. Don’t overthink what you’re doing and saying. Be yourself. Any questions???
