Ten Things Leaders Can Do to Help Their Society Grow 1)Create a membership recruitment “CULTURE” in your State Society be sure that membership is on EVERY Board meeting agenda as an “ACTION ITEM,” not a report Establish membership METRICS and monitor them Clearly establish member and staff roles and RESPONSIBILITIES

  3. Ten Things Leaders Can Do to Help Their Society Grow 2)Send names of QUALIFIED PROSPECTS to Staff a. Do some group BRAINSTORMING b. Identify your MOST LIKELY list. c. Set up a special effort to attract FORMER MEMBERS.

  7. Ten Things Leaders Can Do to Help Their Society Grow 6) Write a “TESTIMONIAL” letter that your State Society can keep on file and use in appropriate membership efforts. a. Write like you are talking to a FRIEND. b. Keep them updated. c. Be specific - tell YOUR story.
