Seestrength • EMPAC’s goal is to elect legislators and state officials who support state employees’ interests • SEANC members donate to EMPAC, creating resources to elect officials who support public services • 91% of EMPAC-endorsed legislative candidates were elected in 2016, including Governor Roy Cooper and Treasurer Dale Folwell • EMPAC went from the 276th North Carolina PAC in 2002 to 68th in 2004, 32nd in 2006 and 11th in 2008

SEERESULTS – 2016 Session • Retained longevity pay and secured raises and bonuses across-the-board • Avoided layoffs and pay cuts • Stopped plan to eliminate 80/20 plan and spousal coverage from the State Health Plan • Secured continued full funding of retirement • Fought off privatization at DOT • Maintained worker protections as defined by the State Human Resources Act
