  2. Gustar • We already know how to use ‘gustar’ when we’re talking about what we like to do: (with a verb/action) • Me gusta escribir • I like to write • No me gusta escribir • I don’t like to write • Te gusta esrcibir • You like to write

Here’s how to describe everybody who likes to study: • Me gustaestudiar I like to study • Te gustaestudiar You (familiar) like to study • Le gustaestudiar You (formal) like to study • He/ she likes to study • Nosgustaestudiar We like to study • Os gustaestudiar You all (familiar) like to study_ • Les gustaestudiar You (plural) like to study • They like to study

  4. Gustar + verb When stating what you like TO DO, use the form gusta • Me gusta comer • Te gusta comer • Le gusta comer • Nos gusta comer • Os gusta comer • Les gusta comer

  5. Gustar + noun • Unlike other verbs, ‘gustar’ AGREES with WHAT you like, not who likes it. • If what you like is singular, use the form gusta • Me gusta • Te gusta • Le gusta • Nosgusta • Os gusta • Les gusta

  6. If you like more than one thing… • If what you like is plural, use the form gustan • Me gustan las galletas • Te gustan las galletas • Le gustan las galletas • Nos gustan la leche y el jugo • Os gustan la leche y el jugo • Les gustan la leche y el jugo

  7. Práctica • Choose the correct form of ‘gustar:’ • A mí me (gusta / gustan) las uvas. • A ellos les (gusta / gustan) el jugo. • A Ana le (gusta / gustan) la manzana y el cereal. • A ti te (gusta / gustan) comer las papas fritas.
