The document stated that any act of colonizing land by European countries would be viewed as acts of aggression. • The doctrine also stated that the U.S. would not interfere with the concerns of European countries. • It formed a sense of nation hood by allowing only Americans to live in America rather than a mixed variety.   3. The court decisions limited the government and showed that the constitution worked • Knowing that our government worked crated a sense of pride in our country • This made many feel that we where actually a nation John Marshall Supreme Court Decisions

  4. The Embargo of 1807 was an American laws restricting American ships from engaging in foreign trade. They led to the War of 1812 between the U.S. and Britain. • intended to use economic pressure to compel England and France to remove restrictions on trading with neutral nations that they imposed in their warfare with each other. • The embargo act presented a sense of independence by showing the other countries that we were able to do such things as blocking our trade ports or completely eliminating trade.
