Si viviéramos en México, adoptaríamos las costumbres del páis. Traduzcan: That empire would be more powerful if it had gold. ____________________________________ NOTE: You use the imperfect subjunctive form after si, and the CONDITIONAL in the main clause. After como si (“as if”) you ALWAYS use the imperfect subjunctive regardless of the tense of the first verb in the sentence. Notice that the other verb can be in either the present or the past tense. EX: Él se vestía como si fuera un rey He dressed as if he were a king. Hablan como si supieran la lengua desde niños. They speak as if they knew the language since childhood. Práctica: Libro de texto – pg. 367 Actividad 31 El imperfecto del subjuntivo con si (if)Use the imperfect subjunctive after si (if) when a situation is unlikely.
