IEE in a nutshell €730 million from 2007-13 Supports EU renewable energy and energy efficiency policies and helps reach the 2020 targets Encourages the uptake of proven intelligent energy solutions Is not a technology development programme, unlike FP7 Works to make Europe more competitive and innovative Call 2011: deadline 12/05

Support to implementation of bioenergy policies • Concrete implementation of regional planning (Bio-resources) • Solid biomass supply chains (for heating and CHP) • Liquid biofuels supply chains (for transport) • Biogas supply chains (for energy production, grid injection and/or use as transport fuel) The Bioenergy Key Action

  5. Policy analysis Biogas as transport fuel Labelling, standards, certification Liquid Biofuels and Biogas for Transport projects Local supply chains BioDiesel Chains

Policy support with a focus on sustainability issues • Concrete implementation of regional and local bioenergy plans • Biomass from sustainably managed forests, agricultural residues, recovered waste • Non land-using biofuels (e.g. from used cooking oils, wastes and residues) • Biogas from waste and agricultural residues Call 2011: a focus on sustainability

  7. Energy-efficient transport Actions aimed at: supporting the take up of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans increasing the energy efficiency of freight distribution in urban areas greening leisure travel or or

  8. Clean & energy-efficient vehicles Actions aimed at: • assisting fleet operators and authorities with the implementation of the Clean Vehicle Directive • or addressing specific issues related to the safety or eco-driving of clean and energy efficient vehicles
