OP functional specs for BI injection devices • Functional specs for injection diag. available as EDMS document • PS PROTONS INJECTION DIAGNOSTICS - 1207510 Rev. 1.0 • Date: 2012-05-08 • Needs new specs because there will be no space in SS42 for beam instrumentation devices due to the length of the future 2 GeV septum

Decision after discussion on integration • The new semgrid should be placed at the beginning of MU42, replacing the existing skew quadrupole • Only position sufficiently close the SMH42 and with enough beam separation between circulating beam and injected one • The new BTV in front of the septum located in the BTP line will be placed just before the beginning of the SMH42, in the new enlarged vacuum chamber of MU41 • The PUs in BTP will be displaced to have: • The PU closest to the septum, i.e., at the beginning of the enlarged common part of the new chamber of MU41. This to privilege the aperture close to the septum. • The second PU will be in BTP at pi/2 in phase advance wrt respect to the first one • A fast BLM (plus a normal one) is already foreseen in the BI list for the new installation also on top of MU42
