Communion of Saints
  • Means two things: the unity in Christ that is experienced by all the people, past and present; and the holy things, such as the sacraments, that bring about that unity.
  • Although canonized saints are prime examples of holiness and dedication to God, it is the unheralded who stand as prime examples for us.

  • With every crisis or hardship, a saint rises to assist those who are in need.

  • We will see two short films about a living saint:

  • Seeing someone making the world a better place by aiding the suffering of man is communion with saints.
  • We are called to follow that example. “As you did it to one of the least of my brethren, you did it to me” Mt. 25:40

  • Jesus is the truth of salvation. That truth is passed on to generations through the Church
  • The Church is Jesus’ body on earth.
  • The Church is the means and the end of the Father’s plan for salvation: born in Christ and built up and made holy through the Holy Spirit

  • All salvation comes from the Church, with Jesus as its head.
  • The Church provides knowledge and truth necessary to be vital in our moral decision making.
  • Church is guided by Popes and Bishops as the successors to Peter, whom Christ entrusted the Church
