  1. Welcome to 2012! 8th Grade Mathematics

  2. Labeling Work Name Date Color ___________ (Success Guidelines)________ ______________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________

  3. The Good News… Everyone currently has an “A”. Do your work everyday on time for the next five months to keep it. Makeup work counts only for a max grade of 70% unless excused.

  4. Tutoring As a team intervention, tutoring is offered after school on Mondays and Wednesdays until 3:30 with either Mr. Painter, Mr. Hewlett, and Mrs. Southern. Those in safety net are required to come.

  5. Pencils Pencils can be sharpened before or after class without permission. If during class you need to borrow or sharpen a pencil, quietly whisper to a neighbor and see if you can barrow. If unable to barrow, you can trade Mr. Painter something of valve (treasure) for a great golf pencil! If you forget to return your pencil, Mr. Painter will keep or ebay your treasured item.

  6. Starter VS Quizzette Starters usually occur in most classes not including math that require a multiple choice answer or short response. However Quizzettes are a thinking process that requires note taking. The notes are then used for the rest of the week to help you on problems. Little to no help will be given after Monday.

  7. Quizzettes and Friday’s As a bonus for taking good notes, you may use your notes on the Quizzette quiz on Friday. If you lose your notes you may not barrow from anyone during the quiz. On the quiz you may have questions like “What is step #2 for question 3?”
