What is Quizlet? • http://quizlet.com/ • Can create flashcards with your own terms and definitions • Can chose from millions of already made flashcards • Learn mode: powerful study mode keeping track of your scores and retesting incorrect answers • Test mode: custom tests with short answer, matching, true/false, or multiple choice options • Games • Scatter: matching game • Space Race: video game study

  3. Pro’s • Can be used on a variety of different subjects • Gives students an interactive way of studying • Drills information into memory • Can be used at home as well in the classroom • Teachers can save them and make them useful for all their classes

  4. How it can be used in the classroom • It can be used as a review guide for tests • Teacher can break off students into groups and all students can help one another • Teacher can assign for homework for students to make their own study guides

  5. Con’s • Some students may not have the attention span to stay focused on the computer • Some students may get bored and give up • Some students may be distracted with other browsers

UDL Guidelines • Quizlet supports the UDL guidelines by providing guidelines for comprehension. • Guides information processing- more practice, the easier the info processes into memory • Supports memory & transfer- info will be drilled into memory • Highlights main ideas- example: state capitals
