Milestones in July 2009 • Urban poor charter for the BBMP elections evolved with NGO/CBO s • Engaging ABIDe on the strategy for poverty alleviation programme for Bangalore • NURM intervention in Deshyanagar: • KIC order • KSHRC order • Deccan Hearlad coverage • PDS: preliminary meeting for the agency level discussion on draft food bill • Report to FORD • PRAJA: initiation of discussion • NURM citizen’s review in Delhi • Review meetings with DPAR and KIC and BBMP putting more info on the web

Own plan to scaling in 30 slums CIVIC has planned to leverage the apprentice time/work • Target NURM slums • One apprentice to one location • Use the local NGO/CBO s in the process • Use the NURM study contacts • Start with NURM guidelines • Use RTI workshop in the first months • Cover with other issues in the coming months.

Important Issues/Decisions • Individual RTIs: No individual applications in the name of CIVIC would be filed by any staff • Executive Summery of slum study print (DTP) • English: 100 prints • Kannada: 500 • Infrastructure study: Print and discussion to be accommodate under core group meeting • WorldBank study: Put soft copy on the website/blog • Field coordinators to discuss in the office before taking any decision on the field or making a opinion

Important Issues/Decisions • Share the baseline data with EC before analyzing to chalk out the method: Rajeshwari • CA: Ask to be present in the next trust meeting – clarify Corpus Fund – Roopa Sr to coordinate • Send CHRI-RTI proposal concept? • Unique Identity Card: Can we organise a Core group meeting on this? • Annual General Meeting: Nest trust meeting to okey the financial statement and annual report? • Hospitality: In-house service to be timely • Water: Check Swaraj – everyday email • Karnataka gazette: Get copies to CIVIC?

  6. Targets (1st and 2nd quarter) Baseline Survey of two poor nieghbourhoods. Analysis of survey data and publication of analysed report. Publication of data on net-platform. Formation of 'Peoples Committees' at slum level and empowerment. Identifying leaders, youths, women and SHG members, Informal interactions/frequenting with partners, participating and building trust Informal interaction about issues facing them, service levels and sharing project plan/proposal Accomplishment Halfway through in second Halfway through in second No Participatory Learning and Acation (>PRA) planned Activities till July (Common)

  8. Targets (1st and 2nd quarter) Press for suo motu declaration by 10 service agencies Collect suo moto disclosures of 10 service agencies with RTI applications. Develop model suo motu declaration. Press for better institutional mechanisms and processes Draft a model muncipal (BBMP) law. If a draft is been produced by the govt. by now, study the model and develop recommedations.
