  2. Prefixes of a Word • The prefix is a word modifier added to the beginning of a word • Time to look at a few examples • Retake, Undo, unicycle, triangle NEXT

  3. How to Figure out a Prefix • Now that we have seen a few examples of words with prefixes we are going to break down these words, Lets do the first one together. • We will use a math equation to form our word • prefix + root = new word Previous NEXT

  4. Retake • Prefix + root = new word • So for retake we look for the root word (a word that can stand by itself take) and add the prefix (the part in the beginning of the word that can’t stand by its self re) • All together we have re + take = retake Previous NEXT

  5. Playing around with prefixes • prefix + root = new word • Now its time to look at another root word and see on your own if you can break it down the word is undo • First look for the root word – when you think you know what it is click on the word • un do Previous NEXT
