Best Beaches in Galway Galway is an advantageous city as it has a plenitude of delightful sea shores near the city, and probably the best sea shores on the west bank of Ireland inside its province. The nearest sea shore to Galway is in Salthill, a short stroll from the downtown area along the promenade which begins in The Claddagh area.County Galway is on Ireland's western seaboard.
