  2. Theme Passage Heb 1 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory & the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. NIV

Faithfulness- The Old Testament word that is used most often for faithfulness (Heb. emuwnahemoonah) carries the meaning of firmness, steadiness, believability & is derived from the word Aman (aw’man)- where we get our word “amen” from. The New Testament most frequently uses a term (Gr. pistis) with its’ root in the idea of being persuaded. We are so convinced of God’s character that it inspires confidence, faith, & surety that inspires good works & love.

  4. 1) God is a Faithful God- Psalm 36 5 Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 6 Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man & beast.

  5. 1) God is a Faithful God- Psalm 36 7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.

  6. 1) God is a Faithful God- Psalm 36 8 They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, & You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

  7. The faithfulness of God, the believability about His promises & character, is really beyond our understanding as fallible & fragile people.

  8. Psalm 119 89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, & it abides. 91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances, For all are Your servants.

  9. James 1 16 Don't be deceived, my dearly loved brothers. 17 Every generous act & every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning. HCSB

  10. Do I believe that God is faithful or that He changes like the world does?

  11. 2) Jesus reveals the Faithfulness of the Father- John 18 37 Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, & for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

  12. Jesus teaches us & shows us truth, a reliable source of God’s character, so we can make a solid connection with God & build our faith on solid ground.

  13. Jesus not only fulfilled the faithful prophecies of the coming Messiah, He showed the full character of God, that God fulfilled every promise & showed every bit of the love, mercy & compassion in Him.

  14. John 14 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 "A little while longer & the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, & you in Me, & I in you.

  15. John 10 28 And I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
