  2. Overview The aim of the Program is to prepare specialists able to design and develop high quality e-learning solutions for education and training. Graduates of the Program will be able to design fully functional and market-oriented e-learning programs at different levels.

  3. For whom is the MSc Program in e-learning intended? The Program is particularly useful for: • university and high school teachers who want to go beyond the boundaries of the traditional education and extend their teaching with e-learning elements • training specialists in companies, governmental or non-governmental organizations • managers at different levels in educational and training institutions • any individual, wanting to build life long learning skills

  4. Content of the Program The Program approaches e-learning from three different perspectives - pedagogical, technological and organization/management - covering the following aspects: • Design and evaluation of e-learning programs • Development of e-learning materials • Content and learning management systems • Student assessment and quality assurance • Planning, organizationandmanagementof e-learning

  5. Courses The Program includes six core courses, which build a background in the main aspects of e-learning, and a set of elective courses, intended to deepen the knowledge and expertise of the students in one of the three dimensions - pedagogical, technological and organization/management. The Program concludes with development and defense of a master’s thesis.

  6. Core Courses • e-Learning Basics • Instructional Design and Materials Development for e-Learning • e-Learning Standards and Modelling • Software Systems for e-Learning • Student Assessment in e-Learning • Planning, Implementation and Management of e-Learning

  7. Elective Courses • Audio-visual and information technologies in education • Internet technologies and applications • Data modeling and database design • Hypertext languages (XML) • Computer networks • Operating systems(Windows XP/2003 orLinux/Unix/Solaris) • Object oriented programming withJava • Object oriented programming with Delphi

  8. Who can apply? • Candidates with BSc inComputer Science, Information Technologies, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Informatics or related fields. In this case the duration of the program is 3 semesters (full time) or 5 semesters (part time) • Candidates with BSc inEducational Sciences or other fields. In this case the duration of the program is 4 semesters (full time) • The candidates must have basic knowledge and skills in IT and educational technologies

  9. Selection procedure The selection of candidates is based on interview on one or more of the following themes: • Theories for instruction and learning • Curriculum and instructional design • Instructional media • Computer architectures, networks, operating systems • Data structures and programming languages • Information technologies and applications • Internet and applications

  10. MSc e-Learning platform: MOODLE

  11. Finally, we believe that Students, who have successfully completed the discussed e-learning course, are competent enough to distinguish good quality from poor quality in e-learning and to design e-learning solutions, which avoid situations like the following…

  12. … poor e-learning student …

  13. … poor e-learning teacher…
