Language Arts • Mastery of letters and sounds. • Mastery of writing letters. • Mastery identifying words and sentences. • Speak in complete sentences. • Write in complete sentences. • Identify the parts of a book. • Reading books for pleasure and knowledge.   3. Math • Mastery of counting, writing, grouping and comparing numbers to 20. • Solving word problems using multiple strategies. • Count to 100 • Mastery of shapes, colors, days of the week, months of the year, and word story problems. • Addition and subtraction mastery.   4. Science • Conduct experiments. • Make observations. • Record data. • Make conclusion.

  5. Behavior • Behaving in a way that promotes learning. • Walk across campus with hands down, eyes forward, and quiet. • Listen to teachers, students, and guests. • Understand the Hot Spot . • Good character is taught and expected at Conley

  6. Homework • Homework goes home on Fridays and needs to be returned by Tuesday in the blue Homework Folder. • Please help your child to be responsible for their folder. • Have your child do their work in the same place. Let them know that you’ll check it.

  7. Calendar • Develop skills in math, reading, and writing. • Learn the days of the week, months of the year, and the shorten version of date writing (exp. 8/13/11). • Foster responsibility with students doing calendar.

  8. Specials • Our specials are P.E. (x2), Music (x2), Library (with checkout), and Computer Lab. • We have a six day rotation for each special. The Specials for the following week are included in weekly newsletter. If a students doesn’t, they will bring home a yellow slip from the specials teacher.

  9. Conferences • We will have teacher/parent conferences on September 27th- 28th • At-risk student conferences are on December 1st. • Student-led conferences are on March 8th. • We can meet for conferences anytime if you or I have concerns.

  10. Report Cards • Kindergarten only has three report cards. They are distributed in January, March and June • It is a check off of subjects. No letter grades.
