  1. Johannes Gutenberg-Universitaet Mainz Institut fuer Kernphysik STATUS OF THE CHERENKOV DETECTOR FOR THE CB@MAMI EXPERIMENT 11 th Collaboration Meeting Dubrovnik, 7 April 2008 Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  2. Schematic View Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  3. Cherenkov Setup • Gas Volume aprox. 1 m3 • Cherenkov Gas (C4F8) • Gas Filter System Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  4. Setup & Trigger P3 and P2 in coincidence with Tagger Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  5. Cherenkov Counts • Good linearity • Exclusion of pile-up • effect Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  6. EnergyP3 vs EnergyP2 Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  7. ADC Spectrum for 1 electron Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  8. ADC Spectrum for 2 electrons Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  9. Analysis Conditions • We define a good e- as if it hits the 3 scintillators (P3, P2, P1) • All have the same TDC time window • We apply cuts to select only the events around the PROMPT peak • The Efficiency is calculated like Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  10. Efficiency Results 20 cm Patricia Aguar Bartolome

  11. Summary and outlook • Conclusions • Cherenkov and Gas system are mounted • Test measurement for the Efficiency was performed with the detector partially filled with C4F8 • Maximum Efficiency value was 99.95 % • Future • Fill completely the detector with C4F8 • New measurement for the Efficiency Patricia Aguar Bartolome
