  1. United Airlines ESA guidelines you should be Aware of. United Airlines ESA guidelines dictate your overall experience on the flight. There are a lot of people with mental health issues and qualify to own an ESA but it’s not entirely about that. One should own an ESA letter to present a valid proof of your condition. Although the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) gives you the right to travel with your pet, it’s your responsibility to ensure that your pet is well-behaved on the flight. The emotional support pet shouldn’t be a source of hassle or discomfort for others. So, this is something that your airline expects with you. What are the United Airlines ESA requirements? You should keep a note of the fact that United Airlines is particularly very strict regarding keeping an ESA. So, you should ensure that you’re aware of all the requirements. The first thing you need to ensure is the documentation. Make sure you submit and verify it at least 48 hours before you board the flight. Along with that, take care of the following:

  2. 1) United Airlines Form (To be filled by your therapist) You need to contact your mental health professional and ask him to fill this form. He needs to mention his relationship with you and the fact that he’s your mental health specialist. The mental health professional will need to mention that your health status requires you to keep an emotional support animal with you. 2) The ESA recommendation You need to present a proof of your health requirement. So, present an ESA letter to the airline authorities and get it verified it advance. Make sure it was issued in the past 12 months with a signature of your health professional. 3) A veterinary health form You need to visit a licensed veterinarian and let him fill this form. He will basically mention that your ESA is free of all the infections and contagious diseases. Also, he will certify that the animal does not have a record or an instinct to attack someone. You might also need to confirm the fact that your pet is vaccinated. 4) ESA animal behavior form Yeah, there is a form for that too. Just fill this form and confirm that the type of animal you have and that it responds to your commands. Also, you will also need to confirm that it is well-behaved in public and it’s absolutely your responsibility to maintain the decorum on the flight. 5) Other documentation If you’re planning to travel to an international destination, then you might need to complete some more forms to get the green light to travel with an ESA. Which animals are permitted on the flight? According to the United Airlines policy, the following animals are permitted on the flight: ●Dogs ●Cats ●Miniature horses Along with these, you need to carry an official ESA letter with you. Along with that, your pet must be at least 4 years old and should not weight over 65 pounds.

  3. Some other United Airlines requirements The United Airlines mentions that your pet should sit on the floor and if the animal is small enough you might be given a kennel to keep under your seat. Now, what if your emotional support animal is too large? In that case, you might have to book another seat. Also, there are some other things that you should be aware of. Your ESA is not allowed to take someone else’s seat. Also, it is not allowed to block the aisles and sit near the exit rows. So, the United Airlines emotional support animal letter requirements are pretty basic. Just keep track of the pointers mentioned above to ensure a smooth flight for you and your ESA.
