  4. Frequent Violations • Disabled area ($375 fine) • Proscribed by state law • Minimum $100 to maximum $500 fine (See VA code § 46.2-1242) • No valid permit in general lots • Potential reasons: forgot to hang permit or violator took a gamble and lost

  5. Student Concerns • Parking Services staff are rude/give bad info • Not enough parking in general lots • Communication problems: parking staff & website say different things

  6. Service Recommendations • Language changes on website RE: permit replacement • Reducing permit replacement fee to $30.00 (currently pro-rated per semester) • Increasing appeals time from 5 to 7 days • Repaint 30-minute spaces in front of Potomac Heights (completed: 12/03/2013)
