Mobile Inspection Tablet and Software • Hardware - Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 • Intrinsically Safe, Sunlight Viewable, 3.9 lbs., 8.5 hour battery life, built in camera • Tablet separates from keyboard to be used in the field with stylus • Software is web-based, called “Smart Tools” • Starting with RCRA, deployed FY 2019 - 2020 • Ultimately will be multi-media, CWA-NPDES focus group starting in March • Can be used off-line or on-line • Tracks all versions • Will integrate with EPA’s data systems • Serve as a data warehouse, saving previous inspections and photos, and pre-inspection information
Smart Tools - Highlights • Manage inspection targeting, staff assignment, progress dashboard, inspection report approval/signature process • Pre-inspection - H&S plan, Sampling Plan, QAPP, permitting/CA info, etc., hyperlink to other facility insp info • Post-inspection – Create report, state/fed cites, including photo attachment • Inspection • Link fed/state regs • Ability to highlight text during the inspection to create lists of AOCs & follow-up items to present during insp out-brief • Take photos and create photo log
