  2. Club Constitution & Bylaws • In accordance with SRCC & recommended club Bylaws • Amendments- Constitution- COL/Club Club can only amend locality & name of the club –Review & opinion of the DG required before sending to RI (COL-2007) Bylaws- Club 10 days’ notice , 2/3rd majority

  3. Circulation of Const. & Bylaws • The Club Constitution & Bylaws need not be circulated to members every year. A copy must be given to each new member at the time of admission & to all the members whenever any changes are made by way of amendments.

  4. Club Constitution & Bylaws • Constitution- Club Officers-P,IPP, PE, VPs ( Board members) Secy, Tr.,SAA (Board members if provided in the bylaws) • Rec Club Bylaws- Board Members- P, VPs, PE, Secy,Tr, IPP & Directors Number of directors Quorum- Club- One third Board- Majority Resolutions- Must be first discussed by the board before placing at a regular meeting

Constitutional requirements regarding Club Bylaws The Club Constitution requires that you must mention in your Club Bylaws, the following- • Day of the week & time of the regular meeting of the club. • The day of the Annual General Meeting which must be held before 31st December. • Admission fees & Annual dues (No admission Fees for transferring members & Rotaractors getting admitted in two years)

Club Bylaws also mention – • Number of board members & directors to be elected at the election meeting (AGM) of which a notice is required to be given 30 days in advance. • Any nominations permitted to be made to the board. • Day of the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors. • Method of electing members ( Six steps). No dues certificate from former club(Constitution)

  7. Membership • Kinds- Active- only in one club (Community leaders added) Honorary- Any no. of clubs. No classification,dues,attendance requirements, office Active+Hon.-Yes but not same club Active + Rotaractor -No • Limitation of 10% form same classification not applicable to –TRF Alumni, Transferring members. • Follow the method of electing members- No ‘prospective member’

  8. Dues • Payable-1stJuly,1stJan., Min.10members RI($26.00 in 2012-13),COL($1in Jul), Magazine(TR$24/-/RNRs.480/-Annual) Dist(Rs.300/- Annual). Prorated RI- 1/12th of annual for full month of new membership with SAdues • Rotarian’s failure to pay for 30 days after prescribed time-10 days’ notice in writing by secy-termination at board’s discretion.

  9. Attendance • Requirement-50% semiannually, 30% in home club (AGs exempt) • Make-up- 14 days before/after(no restriction if travelling abroad) Not in a club from which terminated Club’s service project-if authorized by the board • Excuse-good & sufficient reason, 85 years’rule- only for those above 65.Member out of town-leave only upto 1yr • Termination-Not automatic

  10. Important in Club Admistration. • Cancellation of meeting for commonly recognized holiday • President to continue till a qualified successor takes over • Member can be suspended during termination proceedings • Club website to have link to RI website • Club can suggest only one of it’s own members for DGN • Only clubs at least 1 yr old on 1st Jul can give concurrence to DGN challenge

  11. Annual Elections • Voting at the AGM • Invite nominations at a meeting 1 month earlier- nominating committee/members • SAA elected by elected board at a meeting within one week after election

  12. Club Resolutions • DG Nominating committee member • DGN • GSE Team leader • IYE candidate-sponsoring & hosting • For consideration at the dist. conf. • Electors, Delegates at dist. conference & convention (only Board)-Credential forms to be signed by President & Secretary. All resolutions to be passed by the board before placing before the club

  13. Some Rotary Policies • Partnering with other organizations- with identifiable framework & recognition to Rotary • Joint meetings with other service clubs-only on specific occasions • Other Rotary clubs- Co-operate for activities but not to establish an association • Commercializing/Telemarketing-No. OD, Dist. directory, Club roster for private circulation only. No commercial use.
