  6. Turning off your Mac. Turning off your mac without proper shutdown is one of the worst things you can do. It can screw up your hard drive, scramble your contents of your files or both

  7. SHUT DOWNto shut down properly go to the finder window and click on the apple menu. Click on shut down. The only time you break this rule is if your mac is frozen, the wheel of death is spinning.

  8. To force a shut down 1. Option/command/esc2. hold down the power key for a few seconds.

  9. Things to never do with your Mac.a. don’t unplug it while it is runningb. don’t use when lighting or power blackouts are occurringc. don’t shake, jostle, kick, throw or punt your mac while it is running

  10. THE MOUSEMac uses a one button mouse vs. a left and right button as on pc. To right click hold down the ctl key while single clicking.

  11. One of the improvements on the OSX mouse is the ability to just click on a menu and it will stay open. You no longer have to hold it down while you look at the menu items.
