The Role of IT Evolution of IT in Business • In the early years, the role of information technology was to help an institution do things faster. • Mainframes and Data Processing • As technologies evolved, the role of IT was to also help make things work better. • ERP Systems • Today, IT departments are still required to provide efficiencies, but they are increasingly required to add value to the business. • Mobility Solutions • Business Intelligence So how does this influence the role of Chancellor’s Office ITS?
