  7. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • Printed Circuit Boards are circuits that are compacted into a small board. • Printed Circuit Boards are used to connect a device, or cells, to an interface like the lock in amplifier.

  8. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • The circuit boards we have created have all been created in Eagle, a software that is specifically made for designing PCBs. • In Eagle, you must start off by making a schematic for the software to know what connects to what. 8 Pin Switch 10 Pin Sockets BNC Port

  9. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • Once you are done with the schematic, you press a button that transfers you to the board layout. • The pieces are off to the side and you put them on to the board where you want them to go. • Although this may sound easy, it is like a complex puzzle. 10. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • Once you have everything where you want it on the board, you add a silkscreen. • The silkscreen tells the board factory what you need to be printed on the board.

  11. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • When we receive the board from the factory, we will need to solder any pieces onto the board that we need for our studies. BNC Port 10 Pin Socket 8 Pin Switch

  12. Printed Circuit Boards(PCBs) • Once we solder the pieces on to the board, it is ready to test with the cells. BNC Port 8 Pin Switch 10 Pin Socket
