  1. PSAEParents Striving For Academic Excellence Family Non-Fiction Shared Reading Program Dear Families, As part of Stanley school’s commitment to academic excellence, the PSAE (Parents Striving for Academic Excellence) committee from Clarke school has offered to partner with us in creating opportunities for parents to help support academic learning at home. One way to improve both our children’s literacy development and the learning of scientific concepts is through non-fictionbooks. We are happy to introduce the Stanley Family Non-Fiction Shared Reading Program. It is designed to: Increase children’s exposure to informational texts Create a special time for families to support both literacy and science learning at home Promote opportunities for families to spend quality time together How does it work? Each classroom will have a rotating family literacy bag which includes: A quality non-fiction book aligned with their current curriculum Interactive activities that provide helpful tips and technique A family journal where you and your child can record your experiences and reflections An opportunity for your child to take the bag home once a month for 2 days Participation in the StanleyFamily Non-Fiction Shared Reading Program is optional. Families who participate will be recognized and appreciated by having their name added to a Stanley Family Reading Tree which will be located outside of the office. Kindly indicate below whether or not you would like your child to participate. We look forward to Stanley families joining us in this exciting new program!
