  1. “Level up” Tech Training 2015-2016

  2. FYI • Studies show that students who have teachers that use technology in their lessons, are more engaged and have better retention of information presented. • What if you could reach those couple of students that are just not quite grasping the concepts you are teaching? What if it was as simple as a game or app used to elaborate on the subject for a better understanding? • Technology can be usedto enhance your already amazing lessons! Not to replace them! You are still the most important part of a students learning process! • Use of technology in a lesson will only increase student success, and who doesn’t want that?

  3. Schedule • Today we will be looking at a couple different ways to make your job a little more interactive. • We will look at Versal, Office Mix, ClassCraft, Minecraft and Quizlet!

  4. Versal • https://versal.com/c/hyjb9z/learn?revision=true

  5. Office Mix • Was introduced last year as a companion to 2013 Office, but really is amazing when paired with Windows 10, which is due out in just a few short weeks. I will show you some of its functions and how it can enhance any of your current PowerPoint lessons.

  6. Classcraft • https://game.classcraft.com/

  7. Minecraft • Minecraft is a sandbox game that is open ended and is cross curricular. Minecraft can be used in Math , Science, History and ELA. Because the game is open- ended there are no limits except for you imagination.

  8. Quizlet • https://quizlet.com/53384190/game-design-vocab-1-flash-cards/

  9. Questions • If anyone has any questions or would like some more information just let me know I would be more than happy to help you. • I have compiled a handout on some content area apps that are free and some that have a nominal fee. If you would like some more information on apps that are content and age specific you can go to the Educational App Store. There you can search by age and content as well as price.

  10. Thanks • Thanks so much for allowing me the opportunity to share with you this afternoon, I hope some of this information was helpful and I didn’t put you to sleep!! • Have a great school year!
