THE ROLE OF GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION FOR OPTIMUM TEMULAWAK YIELD ESTIMATION IN BOGOR REGENCY

This research focuses on the role of geospatial information in estimating the optimum yield of temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) in Bogor Regency. The study aims to optimize harvest planning for increased farmers' income and agribusiness. Geospatial data is crucial for cultivation planning and yield estimation to meet national and international needs for this medicinal plant.

  1. THE ROLE OF GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION FOR OPTIMUM TEMULAWAK YIELD ESTIMATION IN BOGOR REGENCY Kris Sunarto Researcher on Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), Cibinong - Indonesia, sunarto02@yahoo.com

  2. Introduction • Temulawak or Curcuma xanthorrhiza is easy to grow up and easy to be cultivated. • Temulawakusefull for medicine, and healthy supplement drinks even traditional beverages. • Temulawak price unpredicted on harvest season, as usual very low. • Geospatial data can be used for Temulawak cultivation planning and yield estimation, related national and international needs. • Research for Temulawak Optimum harvest is important for increassing farmers income, enough stock and their agribusiness.

  3. Many Product base on Curcuma/Temulawak Medicine and Cosmetics Industrial & tradisional of Herbal Drink Jamu Gendong, Herbal fresh drink JamuGendong

  4. Benefits or efficacy of Curcuma: • Benefits or efficacy of Curcuma include prevention and treatment a wide range of disease such as liver disorders, hepatitis. 6. Flow diagram of Research Method

  7. Related of the Keywords • Geospatial information ( the suitability level map, Demplot data & information, Physical Geographic data) related Temulawak cultivation and others planning is important • Estimation of Curcuma harvest through calculation and logical on the field for more real approach. • Optimum harvest, using all medium classes on (suitable level, yield and price), to avoid Under or over estimate and for sustainable.

  8. GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS • This study is concern on optimization harvest of Curcuma in the study area (Bogor regency). • How the result of this research could be influence of national and international needs for herbal medicine. • The desired results is the synergies among agribusiness stakeholders ranging from Curcuma farmers, traders and herbal medicine industries.

  9. Curcuma stepping Yield Row yield /Harvest Net Yield Simplicia

  10. Results of Demplot, related on: Cost, labour, actual yield and area Table no. 1. Sample Results in Demplot area Net yield = 4,503 kg for 46.46 % of 2,850 m2 . So that 1 Ha estimated yield 15.8 Kg.

  11. COMPARATION COST CAPITOL & YIELD

  12. RESPONDSIVE OF FARMERS The first step their ask for guarantie price at harvest season on Rp. 5,000/kg. (But for now is impossible. The second step, using optimum price on Rp. 3,000/ kg. actualy only view farmers agree, they have total area equal 2 % of (2 Villages) the stdy area. Only 2 % of land and Famers on the study area will be ready to apply , if the higest price on Rp. 3.000,-.

  13. ACTUAL YIELD OF TEMULAWAK

  14. Optimum Yield Estimation Calculation of (real area available from the farmers response and their field has been observed = 2 % of the study area). Its mean that 2 % of Bogor area = 5,967.342 hectares x (actual yield by Demplot 15.8 ton/ hektar ) = 94.284 tons.

  15. CONCLUTION • Demplot on the suitable Level Map can be used as a reference to estimate optimum production, so Geospatial Information is Important for managing, calculating and herbal cultivation planning due to their Agribusiness. • On the optimum price Rp. 3.000,- or € 0.24/kg., optimum yield harvest of curcuma will be reach 94.284 tons in Bogor regency. Covering area of 5,967.342 hectares = 2 % of the area.

  16. SUGGESTION • Geospatial data and information should be used for calculation yield estimation espcially of an Agricultural optimum harvest. • Government should learn: fix price on harvest season and regulate an agribusiness system, particularly the medicinal plants trading.

  17. Thank you CULTIVATION, MARKET & AGRIBUSINESS
