Basic facts about Kronoberg No of inhabitants: 183 000 Area: 9 500 km2 Municipalities Alvesta, Lessebo, Ljungby, Markaryd, Tingsryd, Uppvidinge, Växjö, Älmhult Industry Mostly small business - more than 75% of all business have less than 25 employees. Some very large international companies: IKEA, Electrolux-Wascator, Alstom, SÖDRA, Volvo, Dynapac etc Communications E4 passes through Smaland airport Railway links in all directions

  10. The County Council Office supports the centres with for example economy finance, human resources and communication.
  11. Centre for General Medicine Diagnostics, treatment and follow-up of serious chronic and acute diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and HIV are made within these specialties.
  12. Centre for Medical Services Medical service center is responsible for the medical service, that is, various forms of diagnostics, sampling and analysis. Most often, patients come to the Centre by referrals from their physicians.
  13. Centre for Primary Health Care and Rehabilitation Primary care involves the treatment, counseling and prevention efforts at the county health centers. Rehabilitation is made up of different types of measures that help injured and sick to get back or get the best possible capacity.
  14. Children and Women’s Centre The mission is to develop psychiatric, medical, surgical, habilitation and preventive activities for children, families and women's health.
  15. Centre of Psychiatric Care In this centre patients in need of psychiatric care or psychiatric specialist care are treated. Some patients are cared for under duress, which implies special demands on the safety, security and the skills of the staff.
  16. Accident and Emergency Centre The Accident and Emergency Center's mission is to develop emergency medical services to better care for acutely ill and injured patients.

Guarantee for care and treatment Contact by phone or on site with primary care the same day Doctors appointment – if required – within 7 days After a decision on a referral has been made, an appointment with a specialist should be offered within 90 days after the decision The decided treatment should be offered within a further 90 days of this decision.
  25. Freedom of choice Patients have the right to emergency care anywhere in Sweden. If the County Council can’t provide care, the patient has the right to get care at hospitals outside the county. Patients have the right to get comprehensive information about their freedom to choose. All that is said above applies also for care providers possessinga care agreement with the County Council.
