  1. Illinois Rules and Regulations • Illinois Commerce Commission regulates Illinois household good movers for local and intrastate moves. • Moving company is responsible for publishing a tariff, and the tariff is filed and regulated with the ILCC. • Tariff outlines all of the services and charges for the movers, and the ILCC holds all movers in the state of Illinois responsible to follow the published rates, regulations and the procedures set by the Commission.

  2. General Moving Rules • If the move is less than 35 miles, it is priced on an hourly basis. • If the move is over 35 miles and falls entirely within the area covered by the counties of Cook, DuPage, Lake, McHenry, Kane, Kendall, or Will , it is still done on an hourly basis. • If the move is over 35 miles, it is priced by weight and distance.

  3. ILCC # • Movers are required to display ILCC # on their vehicles when doing any moves within Illinois.  • Discounts or flat rating are not allowed on moves within Illinois except in certain very restricted geographic areas.

  4. Workers Compensation Insurance • All movers within Illinois are required to show proof of workers compensation as a condition of their license to operate.
