  2. Business Operations When you first think of business operations, you might think of the simple items or task that are completed on a day to day basis by the employees of the company. While these items are general business operations, there is a bigger picture and understanding the key functions to that are critical to the stability and profitability of the business.

  3. Six Key Functions of Business Operations

  4. Operations Management This function deals with the design and management of products, processes, services and supply chains. Operations management guides the overall direction of the company goals.

  5. Office Management Office management assures that the employees have the proper tools to accomplish the responsibilities that they are assigned.

  6. Legal Management Legal management handles important items like contracts, licenses, warranty documents, etc. For many small businesses, this might be contracted out to a third party.

  7. Financial Management This division is responsible for monetary decisions made by the organization. It serves as decision support and assist in analyzing in financial impact of business activity.

  8. Marketing Marketing is responsible for assuring the customers know and are informed about the products or services you have to offer. This can be many different forms of advertising such as TV, radio, magazine, etc.

  9. Production Production management handles the process of incoming materials, to the production process, what’s going out the door, and the feedback from the customer. This helps them make the necessary adjustments to fit the customers needs.
