  4. WebInABox Home Page Navigate to http://webinabox.vtools.ieee.org WebInABox sites can be accessed directly or from the main WebInABox page. Only volunteers appearing on the Section Officer Roster can login to create and edit WebInABox sites. Please use your IEEE web account to log in. Navigate to http://www.ieee.org/web/accounts to learn more about IEEE web accounts.

  5. Select Organizational Unit This page allows you to select an Organizational Unit and edit its site. Note “Logout” and “Help” links. Select a site that you want to edit

  6. Edit “Welcome” Page This page allows you to enter information for the “Welcome” page of your site Name of the site you are editing Will be shown on top of every page GIF, PNG, JPEG Default text. Please feel free to change, as needed. Let us leave the name of the site and the text for the “Welcome” page, and enter an announcement. You can add announcements here.

Edit “Calendar” Page This page allows you to easily get your meeting information from the vTools.Meetings tool You can learn more about the vTools.Meetings tool by visiting its Wiki page (links to all the Wiki pages are available from http://vtools.ieee.org). If you would like to start using vTools.Meetings, please e-mail us at vtools@ieee.org.

  8. Edit “Calendar” Page – cont’d. Enter the parameters for the events you’d like to show. Then, click “Next.”

  9. Edit “Officer Roster” Page This page allows you to specify what officer information will be shown to site visitors. Officer Information is automatically pulled from our database which is updated through vTools officer reporting. Please note that newly elected officers can log in to the tool to edit what information (e.g Position, Name, Phone) is visible to site visitors.

  10. Edit “Officer Roster” Page – cont’d. Corresponding check boxes for each position will display their information. Let’s show names and e-mail addresses for section Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. Then, click “Next.”

  11. Edit “Other Units” Page This page allows you to specify information about geo units related to your section or chapter. This information is automatically pulled in from the IEEE database. It includes geo units’ names and websites if their URLs have been reported to the IEEE. You can also add information about geo units not associated with your section or chapter directly. For example, you can add information on you “sister” section from a different region.

  12. Edit “Other Units” Page – cont’d. Click “Add other unit” to submit

  13. Edit “Other Units” Page – cont’d. You can edit information by typing directly in the text box and then clicking on the “Edit other unit” button. Then, click “Next.”

  14. Edit “Blog” Page You can add the Blog’s RSS feed URL here. Then, click “Next.”

  15. Edit “Links” Page This page allows you to add links that might be of interest to the site visitors. You can add custom links in addition to the links automatically provided for you.

  17. Edit “Links” Page – cont’d. You can delete a link by clicking on the “Delete link” button. Then, click “Next.”

  18. Edit “Files” Page You can attach files that will be available to visitors of the site. Choose expiration, or “No expiration.” Then choose “Protection level.” Then, click “Next.”

  19. Preview, Save, or Discard changes This page allows you to preview your site before saving, as well as to save or discard changes. You can preview the changes before saving them.

  20. Preview WebInABox site Welcome screen Note the site’s name Click here to close preview On occasion, WebInABox will automatically show major IEEE announcements. Visitors can subscribe to announcements via RSS.

  23. Preview WebInABox site – cont’d. Information on the related geo units will be automatically pulled from the central database Let’s take a closer look at the information generated on this page. Geo units information is automatically pulled in from the central IEEE database. It includes geo units’ names and websites if their URLs have been reported to the IEEE.

  26. Save Changes Click “Next” button.

  27. Activate Website Click to activate the site. Newly created sites can be made visible to the general public by activating them. Existing sites can be taken off-line by deactivating them. Let us activate the site that we just created.

  33. Viewing Activated site – cont’d. Suppose we want to make changes to the existing site. It is easy to do. As an example, let us add a new link.

  34. Adding a link after saving changes Click back onto the tab from when you were editing the site. Then, click on “Links”
