  2. INTERACT commitment to capitalisation Definition We prefer: Capitalisation is the possibility to reuse the result of a previous activity (or methodology/programme/project) in order to amplify and increase its impact and/or value (Olivier Baudelet, European Commission)

INTERACT commitment to capitalisation • Why is capitalisation such an important issue? • More value for Europen Territorial Cooperation results • More value for public money and better project quality • To ensure the evolution of programmes, results, policies; thus of the overall Cohesion Policy • To optimise sinergies and to avoid overlapping • not obligatory, but highly recommended! • now more and more programmes name it

INTERACT commitment to capitalisation • INTERACT initiatives to increase knowledge • and information about capitalisation • Supporting the link between ETC and the Objective 1 and 2 programmes (Seminar on article 37.6.b Reg 1083/06) • Mediterranean Lab Group and focus on Maritime Risk • INTERACT Point Viborg activities on capitalisation in the • fields of innovation and environment • Regional strategies (e.g. Baltic Sea Strategy and Danube Strategy) • KEEP

Capitalisation starts with communication • Capitalisation starts with communication • Identification of good practice/results • Summarising these results with the help of communication tools (publications, website, videos...) • Disseminating the results among relevant stakeholders • Increased visibility • Next step: re-use of the results!
