  13. HLE Drive System • Steel reinforced polyurethane belts • HLE 80, 100, 100SR, and 150 use tension station at the end of the unit • HLE 60 and 60SR tension the belt at the carriage • Belt may be removed without removing payload

  14. HLE Product Strengths • Stainless Steel Strip Protection Cover, IP30 • RB or SR Series Option • 60 through 150 mm Cross-Section • Wide Range of Accessories • Integral T-slot for mounting unit and accessories • Extruded Aluminum Carriage

  15. HLE Product Strengths Custom Carriage Lengths

  16. HLE Product Strengths • High Travel Speeds and Accelerations • Speeds In Excess of 5 m/s (200 in/sec) • Acceleration rates to 20 m/s2 (2.0 g’s) • Repeatability: ±.1 mm (±.004 in) • Long Travels • Travels to 9200 mm (30 ft.) in a single piece • Unlimited Travel with Splice Plates if deflection isn’t exceeded (1mm/meter of length max)

  17. HLE Splice Plates

  18. HPLA Series…high performance • Next generation platform • More options • bearing technology • drive technology • higher traction forces • corrosion resistant opt. • linear feedback • stronger, but lighter

  19. HPLA Product FamilyHigh Performance Linear Actuator • Belt driven (80, 120, 180) • Rack and pinion (180, 80 future)

  20. HPLA - The Concept

  21. High Performance Linear Actuators • The HPLA was designed to create the next generation mechanical platform with optimized performance in size 80, 120 and 180 profiles: • Provide options for bearing technology • Extrusion allows steel inlays to be inserted • Inlays are running surface for steel wheel • Maximize traction force • Upsize belts and pulleys • 80=>25AT10, 120=>32AT10, 180=>56AT20 • Allow much higher belt tension • Choice of pulley on gearhead or hollow shaft • Provide options for drive technology • Size 180: belt or internal rack & pinion • Size 120: belt • Size 80: belt and future rack drive

  22. HPLA – Wicking system

  23. See SB132 for 12 page list of chemical compatibility Configurable options • Stainless Steel Option • Only on PW version • Replaces all carbon steel hardware, shafts, etc. with stainless • Robust resistance to chemicals, cleaners and vapors • Internal Linear Feedback • magnetic scale and pickup inside body • resolution 0.01 to 0.1 mm • no stoke limitations for linear feedback

  24. Comparison of HLE and HPLA loading

  25. normal load for 100km life normal load for 18000km life Comparison Normal Load Rating all data at speed of 20 inches/sec

  26. roll moment for 100km life roll moment for 18000km life Comparison Roll Moment Rating all data at speed of 20 inches/sec

  27. HPLA vs. HLE • Product Comparison

  28. Thrust Force Data • HPLA80 uses 25AT10 belt!

  29. New Pricing for HPLA • Price includes planetary gearhead • 1 meter travel shown • OEM pricing  pay for options 100 SR

  30. HLEZ External Drive

  31. External Drive • Based on HLE platform • HLEZ150 : 150mm square • Uses a precision Aluminum rack with the drive module • Pinion is an inside out belt - “tank tread” • No lubrication issues

  32. External Drive

  33. External Drive Applications: • Provides Unlimited Travel Capabilities with Splices • Multiple Independent Carriage Operation • Dynamic Servo/High Stiffness
