  1. 4-3 Triangle Congruence by ASA and AASM11.C.1 2.5.11.BObjectives:1) To prove two triangles congruent using the ASA Postulate and the AAS Theorem.

  2. Angle-Side-Angle (ASA) Postulate • If two angles and the included side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the included side of another triangle, then the two triangles are congruent. • △HGB ≅△NKP

  3. Example: • Name two triangles that are congruent by the ASA Postulate.

  4. Angle-Angle-Side (AAS) Theorem • If two angles and a nonincluded side of one triangle are congruent to two angles and the corresponding nonincluded side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent. • △CDM ≅△ XGT

  5. Examples • Given: ∠A≅∠B AP ≅ BP Prove triangle APX is congruent to triangle BPY.

  6. Example • Given: ∠B ≅∠D AB || CD Prove triangle ABC is congruent to triangle CDA.

  7. Classwork • Handed – In • Page 197 #1-7, 9-12, 14-17, 22-25
